Marquette service center closer to completion

MARQUETTE, MI--   The city of Marquette is celebrating a milestone in the building of its new municipal center.

Officials and construction firm Gundlach Champion are hosting a ceremonial “topping off” event to mark completion of steel work at the Wright Street site.  To commemorate the achievement, the last steel beam to be installed will be signed by Mayor Dave Campana.

The event will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the new service center site.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
