Marquette Women's March: photos

Around 1,000 people crowded onto the sidewalks at the intersection of Washington and Third Streets Saturday morning to assert their rights and send a message to Washington, D.C. that they won't be ignored.

The Marquette event was a smaller version of one held in Washington, D.C. the same day. Officials there estimated about 400,000 people turned out.

Women's Marches were held on every continent--including Antarctica.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
