MARQUETTE, MI-- Marquette officials are asking residents who switched to carts for garbage and recycling to start using them.
Distribution of the carts started Tuesday. They will continue to be placed curbside in front of homes throughout the city. Carts with yellow lids are to be used for recycling, while carts with green lids are to be used for trash only.
Officials ask residents to place them curbside or in the nearest opening to allow drivers to access them safely and efficiently.
Those who have switched to the cart system will see their monthly solid waste fee updated with the February billing cycle.
