MARQUETTE, MI--   The Downtown Marquette Farmers Market opens for the season on Saturday, and this year’s market will offer an extra day.

The Saturday version runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marquette Commons. It will feature more than 60 vendors selling locally produced food and handmade goods. Live music will be performed weekly by a variety of musicians from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Special programming and food demonstrations are scheduled throughout the season.

The Saturday market runs through December 14.

Starting June 12 a Wednesday evening market will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Commons. More than a dozen farmers and artisans will be on-hand for midweek shopping. The Wednesday market will run through September 25.
