MARQUETTE, MI--   The Marquette Downtown Development Authority is suspending enforcement of metered parking after 3 p.m. during the holiday shopping season.

Beginning November 14 and ending January 1 metered parking and two-hour parking areas in public spaces will be free in the late afternoon. Overnight parking restrictions will still be enforced.

The free parking includes North Third Street, the upper and lower levels of the Bluff Street parking ramp, Commons lot, Main Street lots, Lakeshore Boulevard lot, Rock Street lot, East Baraga Avenue lot, and Spring Street lot.

Handicapped spaces, 24-hour reserved, and loading zones are exempt.
