Marquette, MI - The NMU Center for Rural Health will host a UP Future Health Leaders Camp this summer for regional students who will be freshmen and sophomores at the university this fall.
The camp, which focuses on health education and health career exploration, is scheduled July 20-25.
Educational topics will include basic physical health, including nutrition and cardiovascular, mental health and oral health. There will also be structured time to learn about surgical technology radiography, speech-language pathology, audiology, and clinical lab sciences. Participants will get hands-on patient simulation experience and complete CPR and first-aid certification. They will also have a chance to interact with health professionals.
