Molly and Brian of The Wallens

An interview with Brian and Molly of The Wallens

There's an Americana and Bluegrass duo living in the Upper Great Lakes that have toured around the world; they're called The Wallens and they want to share their music with you.

Originally a solo project from Brian Wallen, the current sound of The Wallens adds Molly's classically trained vocals and percussion to the mix. They've performed in Australia, Europe, and across the U.S. Over the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, they found themselves with time to release an album titled Our Neck of the Woods. The album is "a collection of modern bluegrass songs about home, community, and how it all comes together."

Hear a conversation Kurt Hauswirth had with Brian and Molly about their music, how they work together, the process of making the album, and future plans:

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
