Get ready for Art Week 2022, June 20 - 25

A conversation with Tiina Morin, Arts & Culture Manager for the City of Marquette

A week of art and cultural events returns to the City of Marquette, with the 2022 edition of Art Week.

Starting at dawn on Monday, June 20th with a Sunrise Opening Ceremony, the City of Marquette presents its most ambitious Art Week yet. This year's theme is water, with artists responding to Lake Superior and our surrounding watersheds. Events throughout the week include exhibits, concerts, workshops, and more, and the schedule includes daily events and weeklong installations.

The week breaks down by locations close to Lake Superior:

  • Monday 6/20: City Shoreline
  • Tuesday 6/21: South Marquette
  • Wednesday 6/22: Downtown
  • Thursday 6/23: Presque Isle Park
  • Friday 6/24: Lower Harbor
  • Saturday 6/25: Lighthouse Park

The events of each day also relate to the City's cultural trail and indigenous cultures, with art that can be experienced passively and/or actively.

Kurt Hauswirth spoke with Tiina Morin, who is the Arts and Culture Manager for the City of Marquette, and an integral part of putting together Art Week:
