Discussing the MMS and Hall of Fame with Andrew 'Bear' Tyler

The Marquette Music Scene and Marquette Music Hall of Fame will present the rescheduled 2024 Hall of Fame induction ceremony at LoveMarq Church on Kaye Street in Marquette on Sunday, February 16th, 2025. The evening will feature special musical performances by Aaron Peano, Seth Brown, Brett Hanson, and more. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the ceremony beginning at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be available for donation.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Andrew 'Bear' Tyler of the Marquette Music Scene to discuss the Hall of Fame, its impact, and the vibrant musical heritage of the region. "Marquette Music Scene was created by Cindy Engle over a decade ago," Tyler explained. "In 2017, she launched the Marquette Music Hall of Fame, and we all thought, ‘Why didn’t this already exist?’ It was a no-brainer to honor the incredible musicians who have shaped our area’s music history."

Tyler wasn’t part of the Hall of Fame’s inception but quickly became involved. "When I finished my time with the Vista (Theater, of Negaunee), I jumped in with both feet, realizing how important it was to recognize the people who have made a significant impact on Marquette’s music scene."
