Nurse wants new grave marker for Nezami

MARQUETTE, MI (AP)--   A nurse supervisor at U.P. Health System Marquette is trying to raise money for a new marker at the grave of an Iranian woman whose organs saved the lives of seven people.

Gail Brandly says many people have visited Park Cemetery and left flowers after hearing about Sanaz Nezami's tragic death in Dollar Bay a year ago.  But Brandly says the grave is hard to find, especially in winter, because the marker is flat.  She's trying to raise $5,000 for an above-ground marker on www.crowdrise.com.

Nezami was killed by her husband in 2013 after moving to Michigan to attend Michigan Technological University.

Nezami's family in Iran communicated with hospital staff in Marquette over online video and approved the extraordinary organ donation.
