MARQUETTE, MI-- The first of two visitations was held Tuesday for Marquette Mayor Tom Baldini.
Baldini suffered a major stroke December 23 and passed three days later. He had just been sworn in as mayor in November.
Baldini had a long and distinguished history in the education and political sectors, from teaching at Marquette Senior High School to serving on the International Joint Commission that protects waters between the U.S. and Canada.
A visitation was held Tuesday night at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home. Another will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon at St. Michael Catholic Church in Marquette. That will immediately be followed by a burial mass.
