Flags to be lowered today for Stephen Adamini

LANSING, MI— Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags within the State Capitol Complex to be lowered to half-staff Friday to honor and remember former state Representative Steve Adamini. 

He was born in Marquette and graduated Negaunee High School in 1963. After earning a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan, Adamini went on to receive his law degree from
U-of-M Law School. 

Prior to his time in the House, Adamini served on the Michigan Transportation Commission. Locally, he chaired the Airport Board and Democratic Party in Marquette County. He also served as the city and county attorney for Marquette and on the NMU Board of Trustees. 

Adamini died on April 29. He was 81 years old.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
