Search continues for missing kayaker

Munising, MI - State police are asking the public for help in finding a missing kayaker. Troopers say 65-year old John Michael Kueber’s last known location was at Miner’s Castle in Alger County on September 23rd. He’s described as a white male, approximately 6-foot-2-inches tall and approximately 180 pounds with brown eyes. Troopers add he is thought to have been kayaking in an orange-colored inflatable kayak. He has not been heard from since September 22nd.

Kueber is known to frequently kayak Lake Superior around the greater Munising area, especially around Au Train Island, Grand Island, Mosquito River Beach, and the general Pictured Rocks shoreline.

Anyone with information as to Kueber’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post at 906-475-9922.
