DETROIT, MI (AP)--   Michigan Democrats have elected Lon Johnson as party chairman for another two-year term.

Party spokesman Joshua Pugh says the vote at the state Democrats' convention Saturday in Detroit was unanimous.

Johnson took charge in 2013. He says the party's infrastructure has improved under his watch, but Democrats have to start winning races.

Last year's midterm elections were successful for Republicans. But Democrats stand to fare better in 2016, when voter turnout will be higher for the presidential election.
