Rally to be held for Dem gov candidate

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Democratic candidate for Michigan governor will be in Marquette Monday. 

Abdul El-Sayed is a doctor and former executive director of the Detroit Health Department. He plans to discuss his MichCare plan to implement a single-payer healthcare system in the state.

A rally will be held at 6 p.m. at the Marquette Commons.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
