Pence stumps in Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (MPRN)--   Vice President Mike Pence travels to Michigan Monday to campaign for U.S. Senate hopeful John James and other members of the Republican ticket.

Pence will stump for James at a rally in Grand Rapids. Though James has campaigned on a theme that he wants to bring both major parties together, he’s also said he supports President Trump “two thousand percent.”

That statement provided fodder for the Democrats’ campaigner-in-chief – former President Barack Obama – who stumped for James’ rival, incumbent U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, in Detroit last week.

“We don’t need somebody like Debbie’s opponent, who says he supports President Trump two thousand percent. Two thousand percent—really? Nothing that that guy’s done bothers you at all? Nothing?” Obama said.

For their part, Pence and Trump have repeatedly blasted Stabenow’s performance in Congress, and both have endorsed James’ bid for the Senate.
