Anna Aho Rink launches campaign for Michigan House District 109

MARQUETTE, MI— Another Democrat has entered the race for Michigan’s 109th House District.

Anna Aho Rink announced her candidacy Thursday morning in Marquette. She worked as a physician assistant at the Planned Parenthood Marquette Health Center before funding cuts by federal government forced its closure in April. She is now a Physician Assistant at Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center.

Rink was born and raised in Marquette and lives in Negaunee.

“I’m running to put people over politics,” she says. “U.P. families deserve a representative in Lansing who won’t back down from a fight. This community is my home, and I’ll work every day for more funding for our schools, good paying jobs, more access to healthcare, and lower costs.”

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
