El-Sayed to stump in the UP with AOC

It shouldn't be this hard bus tour poster

MARQUETTE, MI— Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is campaigning in the Upper Peninsula this week on his “It Shouldn’t Be This Hard” bus tour.

The Democrat will hold town halls Thursday at noon in Escanaba, at 2 p.m. in Iron Mountain, and at 5 p.m. in Marquette. He will be joined by U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York.

El-Sayed faces Republican Mike Rogers on November 3. The battle has been contentious. Rogers has attacked El-Sayed’s Muslim faith and El-Sayed says Rogers is more aligned with billionaires than with the American people. It’s one of the most-watched races in the country and could help tip the balance of power in the Senate.

Some big names with big pulling power are scheduled to campaign for both candidates this month. Former President Barack Obama is set to rally with El-Sayed on October 24 in Detroit, while President Donald Trump says he is planning to visit Michigan on October 25 for Mike Rogers.
