Gwinn man pinned between truck and car

GWINN, MI--   A Gwinn man is hospitalized, after he was pinned between a truck and car in West Branch Township.

Wednesday around 2:15 p.m. the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on Eagle Street. Deputies say a box truck driven by a 44-year-old Gladstone man was backing into a parking space in front of the residence when it struck a 58-year-old Gwinn man who was behind it, guiding it. The impact pinned the man against a small passenger car.

The Gwinn man was taken to UPHS-Marquette, where he remains in stable condition.

The driver of the truck was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and lodged at the Marquette County Jail.

The incident remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
