House explosion in Hardwood kills two

HARDWOOD, MI--   Two bodies were found in a Dickinson County home following an explosion Thursday.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post responded around 9:50 a.m. to a home on Fordville Road in Hardwood. First responders found two victims at the scene. Their names are not being released at this time.

The cause of the explosion and fire is under investigation.

The Breen Township and Felch Township fire departments assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
