Marquette Township crash results in minor injuries

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI--   Two people were taken to the hospital following a crash in Marquette Township Thursday.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office responded around 3 p.m. to US-41 at Wright Street. Deputies say Susan Harris, 72, of Marquette failed to yield the right-of-way as she left Wright Street. Her vehicle struck another driven by Dawn Connor, 48, of Ishpeming.

Both vehicles sustained major damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Harris and Connor were taken to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of minor injuries.

Harris was cited for failure to yield.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
