MSP investigate multiple-vehicle crash in Norway Township

NORWAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person was taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle crash in Dickinson County.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post responded Thursday around 12:40 p.m. to US-2 at Summit Road in Norway Township.

Troopers say a vehicle driven by Dennis Saint Vincent, 65, of Loretto pulled onto US-2 from Summit Road and drove into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by Teddy Gurgall, 84, of Hermansville. The collision sent Gurgall’s vehicle into a third vehicle driven by Nancy Raiche, 66, of Iron Mountain, which was stopped at US-2 and Main Street.

Raiche was taken to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, treated and released. No other injuries are reported.

Troopers believe alcohol is a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
