Police make arrest in Gogebic County B&E

UPDATE, 1/13/15:  The suspect has been identified as Dustin Michael German, 23, of Minnesota.

IRONWOOD, MI--   A Minnesota man has been arrested in connection with a breaking-and-entering incident in Ironwood. 

Troopers from the Wakefield Post were called to the scene Monday around 3:50 a.m. and learned the subject had just fled.  Shortly afterward troopers spotted a man who fit the description given by the victim.  The suspect ran between some houses through deep snow and tried to hide under a tree, but police followed his tracks and took him into custody.

The 23-year-old suspect was found with stolen merchandise.  He was arrested for home invasion, resisting police and possession of a controlled substance.  His name is not being released, pending arraignment.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
