Search for new NMU provost officially begins

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University has begun a national search for a new provost.

Current Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Kerri Schuiling is stepping down from the position in January 2022. Schuiling has served in the post since 2015.

NMU is forming a search committee to look for a replacement. The group will include student, staff, faculty and administrative representatives. Those selected for the committee will be announced before the end of the semester.

Kerri Schuiling will become Special Assistant to the President for a year, then fully retire in January 2023.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
