Several Schoolcraft County residents arrested this week on drug charges

MANISTIQUE, MI--   Seven people were arrested on various drug-related offenses that happened in the City of Manistique and Schoolcraft County.

Manistique Public Safety made the arrests with the assistance of the Public Safety K-9 Unit, the Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department, Soo Tribal Police, the 93^rd District Court Probation Department, and the Michigan State Police.

Charges included delivery/manufacture of meth; using a computer to commit a crime; selling a controlled substance out of a vehicle; delivery of a controlled substance on school or library property; and maintaining a drug house.

All suspects were arraigned on Wednesday.

Officials say the arrests are the result of an ongoing investigation into illegal narcotics trafficking in the area.
