Author Steve Hamilton has come out with the tenth novel featuring Alex McKnight, a retired Detroit policeman, who is coaxed back to his old stomping grounds from his home in the U.P. community of Paradise.

Kyra Sido describes her journey into photography, especially her work in Vietnam. The exhibit at Oasis Gallery features Sido's many portraits of the Vietnamese people. It can be seen throughout the month of July in the Oasis Gallery in Marquette.

"American Poet" author Jeff Vande Zande

Jeff Vande Zande talks with Public Radio 90's Stan Wright about his latest novel, which won a Michigan Notable Book Award. He will present portions of the novel at a gathering tonight at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of Peter White Library in Marquette. There will also be a short film, based on one of the book's chapters, directed by NMU and WNMU-FM alumnus Jim Gleason, at the event. The presentation is free to the public.

  Scott Flavin talks with Stan Wright about what the Bergonzi String Quartet is performing this summer at the festival. They'll be presenting a free children's concert at 1 p.m. today in the Peter White Library Community Room, and a concert of works by Sibelius and Beethoven tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall at NMU.
