Plans for Marquette County outdoor shooting range being finalized

Marquette County, MI - The Department of Natural Resources is finalizing development plans for a new outdoor shooting range in Marquette County. The range site is in Richmond Township, near Goose Lake, on property the DNR leases from Cleveland Cliffs. Officials say the new range will meet or exceed Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility guidelines… provide hunters with the opportunity to increase firearm proficiency and safety… and allow recreational shooters to practice their sport in a safe, accommodating area that expands use potential beyond the summer months.

Those interested in the range can attend an open house on the project. It will be held Thursday, September-29th from 3 to 6-30 p-m at the Richmond Township Hall in Palmer.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
