Do 'Three Free' in Michigan this weekend

Michigan Department of Natural Resources

LANSING, MI— Fishing, off-roading, and entrance into state parks are all free this Saturday and Sunday.

The Department of Natural Resources’ “Three Free” weekend allows residents and visitors to grab a fishing pole without a license. All other fishing regulations apply.

Riders can use their ORVs on 4,000 miles of state-designated routes and trails without purchasing an ORV license or permit.

And to encourage people to get outdoors, the DNR will waive the regular Recreation Passport fee. It grants vehicle access to Michigan's 103 state parks, 1,000-plus state-managed boating access sites, and other outdoor spaces.
