Teal Lake Dock project to open with ribbon-cutting during Pioneer Days

Facebook

NEGAUNEE, MI— The City of Negaunee will host a ribbon-cutting next month to celebrate the completion of the joint Teal Lake Dock project.

The docks, located on both ends of Teal Lake, are ADA-compliant. The west-side dock, by Ishpeming, accommodates both canoes and kayaks, while the east-side dock, by Negaunee, supports canoes, kayaks, and sculls used by the Marquette Rowing Club.

The $152,000 project was supported by a $114,000 DNR Recreation Passport Grant and a $38,900 required local match.

The ribbon-cutting will take place during Pioneer Days on Tuesday, July 8, at 5 p.m. at the Negaunee dock, across from Lakeview Elementary School.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
