US-41 signal work in Houghton set for June 1-3

HOUGHTON, Mich. - Crews from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be making traffic signal upgrades on a portion of US-41 in Houghton next week. The work at the US-41/MacInnes Drive intersection will take place from June 1st to 3rd. This work will require lane closures on June 2nd.
Motorists should expect lane closures and traffic shifts in each direction of US-41 beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 2. The traffic impacts are expected to last four to five hours.
Low level signals, backplates and bottom tethers will be installed at the intersection to upgrade the signalized intersection.
MDOT urges motorists to use caution when approaching the intersection.
