DNR rescues snowmobilers in Luce County over the weekend

LUCE COUNTY, MI— Four snowmobilers had to rescued by the Department of Natural Resources and sheriff’s deputies in Luce County Friday.

Officers responded late Friday night to the Sleeper Lake Marsh area. The snowmobilers had become stuck in a wet part of the marsh.

The officers had to use GPS as they dealt with deep, freshly fallen snow and poor visibility to reach the snowmobilers.

One of the operators was treated for possible hypothermia.
