Packers season ticket holders can get new seats

GREEN BAY, WI (AP)--   Season-ticket holders at Lambeau Field have the chance to upgrade their seats to a spot in the new seating section currently under construction.  Instead of benches, new seats in the stadium's south end zone will have chair backs and cup holders.

Tickets in the new seating areas range from $82 to $89.  General seating elsewhere at Lambeau this season runs from $72 to $92.  User fees for fans who want  relocate won't increase.

Officials say 6,500 additional seats should be ready by the 2013 season.

The Green Bay Packers mailed information about the new seating areas to season-ticket holders this week.  The Green Bay Press-Gazette says they have until September 20 to respond.

Seats in the new areas will be given on a seniority basis.  Any leftover seats will be offered to fans on the season-ticket waiting list.
