Ore to Shore marks two decades

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic is celebrating its 20th anniversary this weekend, and officials have come up with some ways to honor the milestone.

The grand prize of the O2S raffle will be a quilt constructed from race T-shirts over the past 20 years.

Officials have invited previous winners and will be offering a cash prize to the first racer who reaches Misery Hill. A cash purse has also been set aside for racers who break the course record in both the 48 mile Hard Rock and 28 mile Soft Rock.

Negaunee is the site of the starting line Saturday. The epic courses travel through Ishpeming and north into the woods. Riders will either cross or bike alongside the Dead River and roll into Marquette to the finish line.
