More people needed to help out at Saturday's Ore to Shore

MARQUETTE, MI--   Volunteers are needed for this year’s Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic.

More than 2,200 racers are registered for Saturday’s events, featuring a point-to-point race from Negaunee to Marquette. Races for all ages and abilities will be held throughout the day.

This year the overall male and female winners from the 48-mile, 28-mile and 10-mile races will be celebrated at 2 p.m. outside Lakeview Arena.

Officials are looking for last-minute volunteers for tasks like bag stuffing, race start aides, staffing the information booth and helping with awards ceremonies following the races.

To volunteer send an email to oretoshore@gmail.com or go to www.oretoshore.com.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
