MARQUETTE, MI— Chilly temperatures are greeting skiers participating in Noquemanon Ski Marathon events in Marquette County this weekend.

The Junior Noque races begin at 4 p.m. at the Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming. The Superior Dome opens at 6 a.m. Saturday and participant busing to Ishpeming for 50-, 24- , and 12K events starts at 7 a.m. Activities are scheduled to wrap up with the 15-mile snowshoe at 1:10 p.m.

Race officials say this year’s awards ceremony is canceled due to COVID concerns. They believe it’s in the best interests of all participants that they further reduce the opportunities to gather in close proximity indoors.

More information about the races is at www.noquemanon.com.
