IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— Skiers are jumping with excitement for this year’s Pine Mountain Continental Cup in Iron Mountain.

Sponsored by the Kiwanis Ski Club, the 82nd ski jumping tournament starts at 1 p.m. with training rounds. The competition kicks off Saturday at 11 a.m., and an opening ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Ski jumping continues on Sunday with training rounds at 11 a.m.

Tournament officials have improved the ski jump by replacing wood in the steel structure with fiberglass. Competitors will have to climb 100 stairs to get to the top.
