LANSING, MI— The Great Lakes Sports Commission has a new executive director.

Eric Marvin is currently the executive director of the Evansville Regional Sports Commission in southwestern Indiana. He’s a 15-year veteran in the sports tourism and economic development industry.

The GLSC serves the 36-county Upper Peninsula and northern-lower Michigan region. The nonprofit organization’s mission is to promote Michigan as a premier destination for recreation, sports, and tourism.

Board Chair Fritz Erickson says Marvin has experience leading regional sports commissions, and has shared a detailed vision for growth of the organization.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
