IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— The 2023 Pine Mountain Continental Cup ski jumping tournament takes off beginning Friday.

Officials say $3.4 million has been invested to bring the 176-foot jump up to date. The wooden scaffolding and ramp were replaced by steel and fiberglass, and a refrigeration system was installed to keep the track frozen throughout the competition.

More than 40 jumpers from eight countries are expected to compete.

The tournament will be held Friday through Sunday at the Pine Mountain Resort in Iron Mountain. More information is at www.kiwanisskiclub.com.
