906 Adventure Team receives money to construct its BASECAMP

MARQUETTE, MI— The Great Lakes Sports Commission is giving 906 Adventure Team $150,000 toward the construction of its Bike and Adventure Park.

906AT is a nonprofit aimed at empowering people to become the best version of themselves through outdoor adventure. The park will be developed and operated on a two-acre green space located outside 906AT’s new headquarters, adjacent to Marquette’s east side bike path. It will be called the BASECAMP.

906AT created three nationally recognized endurance events over the past ten years: the Marji Gesick, the Polar Roll, and The Crusher.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
