Chilly temps cancel some Noquemanon events

MARQUETTE, MI— Officials with the Noquemanon Ski Marathon have canceled the Adaptive and Junior Noque races on Friday due to anticipated cold temperatures.

The National Weather Service predicts the ambient temperature at 4:00pm will be -8 degrees Fahrenheit and will continue to drop into the evening. The wind chill is expected to be around -28 degrees.

In a Facebook post, the Noquemanon race committee says protocol set for the Junior Noque and the Adaptive races on Friday was -4 degrees by race time. Given this information, the race committee has decided to cancel all of the Junior Noquemanon races and all of the Adaptive races scheduled for Friday, January 23rd. They will not be rescheduled.

Any delay to the start and/or course alterations for Saturday will be made by or on Friday.
