SAGOLA TOWNSHIP, MI--   A man has been killed in a fall at the Louisiana Pacific plant in Dickinson County’s Sagola Township. 

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post responded to a medical call Friday. Preliminary investigation determined a man was cleaning machinery while standing on a catwalk. He fell and suffered serious injuries.

Lifesaving efforts were performed but the employee was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. 

MUNISING, MI--   Officials have released additional details regarding a fatal fall at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Wednesday.

National Park Service officials say around 1:30 p.m. Tu Thanh Nguyen, 32, of Sunnyvale, California was hiking by herself on the North Country Trail. She stopped about a half-mile east of Grand Portal Point to take pictures of herself when she fell about 200 feet off the cliff edge to Lake Superior.

MUNISING, MI--   A California woman has fallen to her death at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. 

Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. park rangers responded to Chapel Beach on a report of a potentially deceased individual. Rangers and Alger County paramedics confirmed the 32-year-old woman had died as the result of a fall.

The incident is under investigation by National Park Service officers.

TORCH LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI--   An Indiana man fell to his death in Torch Lake Township Monday.

State Police from the Calumet Post were dispatched around 11:30 a.m. to Hungarian Falls on a report that a man had fallen while sightseeing with his family. Officers say Lloyd Gremaux, 83, slipped and fell about 80 feet. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers were assisted by the Bootjack and Dollar Bay First Responders, the Hubbell Fire Department, and Calumet Township Fire and Rescue.
