LANSING, MI— State regional unemployment rates increased in July.
The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget says not seasonally adjusted unemployment rates increased in 14 of Michigan’s 17 labor market areas over the month.
Jobless rates ranged from 3.8 to 5.8 percent in July, with a median jobless rate increase of 0.1 percentage point over the month. Only the Upper Peninsula exhibited an unemployment rate decrease during the month, at 0.1 percentage point.
Mackinac County had the lowest unemployment rate in the U.P. in July, at 3.4 percent. Ontonagon County had the highest jobless rate, at 7.3 percent.
