MVAA veteran pinning event to be held in Marquette May 19

MARQUETTE, MI— The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency will hold a Vietnam War-era veteran pinning ceremony in Marquette next month.

The event is being held during the fourth Michigan Veterans Leadership Summit at Northern Michigan University May 19-21. It’s for U.S. veterans who served on active duty in the armed forces anytime during the period of November 1, 1955 through May 15, 1975, regardless of location. Any Vietnam War-era veteran who has not already received a pin is encouraged to attend.

The ceremony will take place on the 19th at the Ore Dock Brewing Company. Veterans who wish to be pinned should RSVP by April 21 through this form.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
