LANSING, MI-- Five Upper Peninsula projects are receiving funds through the state’s Recreation Passport Grant Program.
Money for the program is derived from the sale of the Recreation Passport, which replaced the window sticker formerly used for state park entrance.
Nineteen communities across the state were given money. Among them, the City of Munising received $20,200 to renovate the Lynn Street Tennis Court; $45,000 will be used to redo the Little Trout Lake Park Pavilion in Marquette County; Tilden Township has been given $27,600 for the National Mine playground; the Village of Lake Linden will use $38,100 to renovate the Lake Linden Park Campground; and Keweenaw County’s Sherman Township has received $24,600 to develop a schoolyard park in Gay.
