Nominations now being accepted for Outstanding Volunteer Awards

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Volunteer Coordinators of Marquette County are looking for a few good volunteers. 

Awards for the Marquette County Outstanding Volunteer Awards are given annually to individuals and an organization to acknowledge their commitment to their communities.

Nominations are being sought for categories including Youth, Adult, Senior, Pet Partners, Organization, and Michael D. Nunnally: NMU Student Volunteer.  All volunteers in Marquette County are eligible and anyone can nominate a volunteer.

Nomination packets are available online at upvolunteer.org and glcyd.org.  Paper copies are available at the NMU Volunteer Center or at Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes in the Westwood Mall.  They  must be received by March 7. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
