WI officials looking to create huge ORV park

FOREST COUNTY, WI--   Wisconsin’s Forest County has received a state grant to study the possible construction of an off-road-vehicle park in the region.

For more than a decade county officials have discussed developing a 10,000-acre park that would contain hundreds of miles of trails for ATVs, motorcycles, trucks, and other ORVs.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has given the county a $10,750 Community Development Investment grant to fund the second phase of the study.  It will focus on a specific site for the park, and will continue work on a business plan and economic impact analysis.

Officials say the project could have an annual economic impact of $28 million and could create more than 300 jobs in the area.
