Senate candidate Land gives own campaign $650,000

  LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land reports putting $650,000 more of her own money into her campaign.
       The Detroit Free Press says that increases the amount that she's contributed to her campaign to $3.5 million.
       The former Michigan secretary of state is running against Democratic U.S. Rep. Gary Peters for the seat now held by retiring Democratic U.S. Sen. Carl Levin.
       In a filing Tuesday, Land says she made a $400,000 contribution and a $250,000 loan to the campaign.
       Filings say that by Oct. 15, Land had raised $11 million and spent $10 million during the race. Peters says raised $9 million and has spent $8.6 million.
