ST. IGNACE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities have charged a suspect in the fatal shooting of his 75-year-old father.
Fifty-three-year-old Richard Allen McKenzie Jr. was charged Tuesday with two counts of first-degree murder as well as a felony firearm count.
Investigators say the son shot into the windows of his father's house and barn in Mackinac County's St. Ignace Township on Friday. The father was on the phone with his daughter, and he told her he had been shot.
Prosecutors say the son crawled into the barn through a broken window and responders found him on the floor with cuts.
There is no word yet on further court proceedings.
