Lakeshore Boulevard in Marquette open again

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette streets closed because of high wave action on Lake Superior have reopened.

City officials shut off Lakeshore Boulevard to traffic Monday when waves whipped up by a high wind crashed over rip rap and flooded the road.  Portions of Pine and Wright streets that lead to Lakeshore were also shut down.

A rainstorm swept across the U.P. Monday.  Snow showers followed on Tuesday.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
