Rowland search continues

MARQUETTE, MI--   Officials continue to search for missing Skandia resident John Rowland.

The 36-year-old was last seen in the early morning hours of Friday, February 23 in Marquette. A maroon van he was driving was found that night on Forestville Road. Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies say they received a tip indicating the van was stuck on the road as early as 11:30 a.m.

Marquette County Search and Rescue scoured the Forestville area Thursday morning and afternoon. The Michigan State Police is expected to assist with a helicopter search Friday.

Deputies are encouraging the public to call or send a Facebook message with any tips regarding Rowland’s possible whereabouts. The Sheriff’s Office number is 225-8470.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
